It's been a while....

It's been a while since I last posted on my MAD blog and a lot of things have changed.

My Chinese lessons with the Whites stopped some time ago and I've also graduated from high school!

Looking back, my MAD project had always been the highlight of my Mondays. As a person who loves children, my Monday blues would always disappear when I got to see Maddie, Ava and Josiah in the afternoon :)

Now that everything's wrapping up, I hope that I would get to see their family once more before I leave for California in late July.

Update

It's been a while since my last blog post and there aren't really much changes lately. I haven't been able to meet the Whites as frequent lately since they haven't been able to make time for it on Mondays, while there were days I had to ski[ because of other commitments, such as after school Calc sessions, or sometimes a test the next day

Update #2

I've been looking back at my Phase B proposal and I realized there were lots of things I wanted to do but failed to do.
For example, I wanted to be prepared every time I meet with the Whites, but I never really did that. Instead, every time we meet, Mr or Mrs White would ask questions about certain things, and we'd go from there. Sometimes, we would start by going over what we discussed the week before, go over them, and start with new things.
I think the project has been quite successful in some ways, even though it didn't turned out the way I planned it to be. For example, in my Phase B document, I wrote that I'd like to see Chuen have an easy transition into her new family. I'm happy to say that Chuen indeed has had a smooth transition into the family, although it wasn't really because of my help. Chuen picked up English a lot faster than her parents did with Mandarin Chinese. Nevertheless, I'm still really really happy that she's having a good time, and receiving the medical attention she needs.
Through the past six months, I've seen the changes in their family and it really warms my heart when I see them together :)

Update 1

My MAD project has been really fun so far! I love seeing Ava, Josiah and Chuen every Monday after school. It's been a long while since this project started and I can definitely see lots of progress. It makes me incredibly happy when I see Chuen understand her parents even though she's picking up English in an incredible pace.
It's been over a month since our lesson due to Christmas break and the Whites being out of town visiting family.
It might resume the following Monday so I'm looking forward to it :)
